Gwen Tatara

Director of Policy

Gwen is a junior from Dexter, Michigan majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences. Previously she served as CSG's Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Survivor Empowerment Commission Chair. In this role Gwen worked to provide students with personal safety kits, advocated for reproductive freedoms on campus, researched alternatives for late night transportation, and more. She is passionate about advancing equitable and sustainable CSG policy efforts in her role as Director of Policy. Outside of CSG, Gwen is an Executive Board member of Michigan Political Consulting and serves on the Vice President of Student Life’s Advisory Board.

The Central Student Government (CSG) of the University of Michigan, are comprised of students of different backgrounds who have come together to serve our fellow students and the entire University of Michigan community.

Through our work and advocacy, we seek to encourage student civic engagement, give voice to student concerns, and enhance student welfare and the Michigan experience for everyone.

CSG is motivated by the belief that there is no deeper expression of commitment to our school than to work to improve Michigan so that it realizes its greatest potential.
