Know Your Rights Red Cards
Free Know Your Rights Red Cards are available in the CSG office on the third floor of the Michigan Union.
All students are welcome to stop by the CSG office during open hours to pick up a free Know Your Rights Red Card. Normal office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Requesting Cards for Groups
The following groups may take up to 100 free cards per semester without needing to submit a request form or provide justification:

Student organizations

University departments
-
University-affiliated labor unions

Student, faculty, or staff governing bodies or advisory committees

CSG task forces
If your group needs more than 100 cards in a single semester, please submit a request using this form: [Insert link]
Requests will be evaluated based on available supply and the likelihood of the requested cards actually being distributed.
What Are Know Your Rights Red Cards?
All people in the United States have certain rights under the United States Constitution. Know Your Rights Red Cards list several of the most important rights to remember when interacting with law enforcement. One side of the card provides examples of how to exercise your rights during an interaction with law enforcement. The other side provides a brief explanation, intended for law enforcement, of the rights being exercised.
