Updates

  • Hail to the Victims

    • We encourage students to join CSG in supporting the survivors of Dr. Anderson by camping outside of the President’s House with Jon Vaughn. CSG is reimbursing students for rental camping equipment, which can be rented at a low cost through Adventure Leadership. To get a reimbursement fill out this form.

  • CAPS Let’s Talk (No Appointment Necessary!)

    • 10-15 minute CAPS virtual consultations that are available on:

      • Mondays: 11:00-12:00 pm. with Dr. Todd Sevig

      • Tuesdays: 1:00-2:00 pm. with Dr. Reena Sheth

      • Wednesdays: 1:00-2:00 pm. with Dr. Todd Sevig

      • Thursdays: 2:00-3:00 pm. with Dr. Reena Sheth

  • Angell Hall Renaming

    • CSG, in collaboration with the United Asian American Organization, the South Asian Awareness Network, and LSA Student Government, planned a month of action to raise awareness about the legacy of James B. Angell. You can find information on the teach-in here and see a copy of the resolution CSG passed here.

  • Maize and Blue Cupboard X Cultural Foods

    • We have partnered with the Maize and Blue Cupboard to provide ingredients for cultural foods. This is an important step in recognizing and promoting multiculturalism on campus and making cultural foods more accessible to students. We want the ingredients we purchase to be informed by you so if you have any recipes you would like to share, as well as the ingredients you need to make them please fill out this form.


Student Resources:

  • Late Night Ride Reimbursement

    • As a new program to address campus safety, CSG is providing late night transportation reimbursements. We will be giving one-time reimbursements up to $15 for late night ride shares such as Uber or Lyft. Reimbursements can be requested here and will be given on a first come first serve basis.

  • Free Group-X Passes

    • Group-X passes give students access to every fitness class held by Recreational Sports on campus. CSG is excited to subsidize 100 in-person and 15 virtual passes for the remainder of fall semester for students on Pell-grants and/or other forms of need-based grant aid. To be considered for a free group-x pass, fill out this form.

  • Anti-Racism Student Organization Grant

    • Central Student Government is providing funding for student organizations who have consistently committed to furthering ideals of social justice and anti-racism. Potential grantees will be able to apply for programming support (event specific support) and/or general operating support (non-event specific support). In addition to monetary support, grantees will also work with Central Student Government in order to ensure their needs are met through this program and beyond. Please apply for the grant here!   • Is your landlord asking you to resign a lease or show your current unit?

    • If your landlord has been asking you to resign your lease or "reserve" a unit, that may go against the Early Leasing Ordinance approved by City Council. There are actions you can take to aid in our advocacy.

  • Airbus Winter Break

    • The Airbus will be available for rides to the Detroit Airport for $9 on December 14th-17th, and for rides to Ann Arbor from the Detroit Airport for $11 on January 4th. Check out csgairbus.com for more specific information about run times and how to sign up!

  • Sweatshirt Competition!

    • CSG is hosting a sweatshirt design competition open to all U of M students. The winning design will be featured on sweatshirts that will be available for purchase by the entire student body, with proceeds going towards the Leadership Engagement Scholarship. Submissions must be submitted via this form by January 7, 2022 at 11:59 pm. The first place winner will receive AirPods (or an equivalent prize of choice) and the runner-up will receive a $100 gift card to the Michigan Tech Shop.

  • Free Graduation Gowns

    • CSG is handing out FREE graduation gowns (both Bachelor’s and Master’s) on Wednesday, December 1st from 1:30-3:30pm and Thursday, December 2nd from 9-11am. Both distributions are at the Barnes and Noble in the Michigan Union basement. Distribution is first-come, first-serve and advance registration is NOT required (1 gown per student). At this time, we are only providing graduation gowns to students who graduate at the end of the Fall 2021 semester in December. We hope to offer another distribution next semester for students graduating in May 2022. A valid MCard is required to pick up a graduation gown. *Cap and tassel is not included*

  • Finals Wellness Event

    • CSG will be hosting a Finals Wellness Event on Wednesday, December 8th from 4:00-5:30pm in the Pond Room of the Michigan Union. Join us for free snacks, wellness kits, and de-stress activities as we head into the final exam season.


Upcoming Events

  • Submit an Amendment to the Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities for consideration

    • The Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities outlines the rights and expectations for all University of Michigan students. Since its inception it has been a community-created document and is open to amendment by the community every three years. As a member of the University of Michigan community you are invited to review the Statement in its current form and propose any changes which you believe are necessary and appropriate as we together support and maintain a scholarly community. Amendments can be submitted here between now and January 14th, 2022. Questions about the process may be directed to OSCR@umich.edu and staff in the Office of Student Conflict Resolution are available to consult or assist with any individuals or groups interested in exploring a potential amendment submission.
