Tyler Watt

Student General Counsel

Tyler is a second-year law student at Michigan Law. He matriculated from the University of Michigan in 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science.


As Student General Counsel, Tyler works with all branches of CSG to advise on legal and procedural matters. He also appoints and oversees the CSG Elections Team that runs the March and November elections. Some of his priorities include improving election turnout, reviewing CSG Assembly resolutions, and working with unit student governments to improve their governing documents.


Tyler hails from Saginaw, Michigan, and enjoys writing letters to pen pals, baking fudge, and traveling to all fifty states… 46 down, 4 to go!

The Central Student Government (CSG) of the University of Michigan, are comprised of students of different backgrounds who have come together to serve our fellow students and the entire University of Michigan community.

Through our work and advocacy, we seek to encourage student civic engagement, give voice to student concerns, and enhance student welfare and the Michigan experience for everyone.

CSG is motivated by the belief that there is no deeper expression of commitment to our school than to work to improve Michigan so that it realizes its greatest potential.
